International Silent Film Festival Manila This Weekend!

Stuck in Manila for the holiday? Not sure what to do this long weekend? Go watch the 6th International Silent Film Festival this afternoon and tomorrow night! I heard there will be live music accompanying the film by bands from Manila! If you want to know more about Silent Films then go tonight for the Art Talk.

Tickets are free and on a first-come, first served basis. The Shangri-La Cineplex ticket booth opens 60 to 90 minutes prior to every showing. It is advised that you contact the following ahead for RSVP:

The 6th International Silent Film Festival has already started this week from August 24, 2012 until August 27, 2012. The remaining schedules are as follows:

August 26, 2012 (Saturday)
3pm Eternity (1983) & Pelikula (1985) ft. Diwa de Leon (Philippines)
4pm La Signora Delle Carmelie ft. Garlic (Italy, 1915)
7pm Art Talk ft. Max Tessier & Raymond Red on "The Heritage of Silent Cinema" (Talk, Forum)

August 27, 2012 (Sunday)
7 pm Safety Last ft. Radioactive Sago Project (USA, 1923)

I think what makes this different from the other silent film festivals is the music accompaniment by our very own top solo artists and musical groups. It's a film festival and a concert too! Enjoy enriching your soul with these oldies!
