I've got a treat for you this month and it's good for the environment! =) The Save Philippine Seas will celebrate its second anniversary and hold the first ever Seatizen's Festival this September 15 at the Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center in Quezon City! There will be a Green Race with Run For Change (at P300 only for 1k, 3k, 5k or 10k and they will implement eco-friendly practices for runners), an Art Shack & Sunday Market (with creative activities by local artists like photography and art workshops) and a Free Rock Concert (featuring the Itchy Worms, Flying Ipis, Absolute Zero, etc.). Let's start the celebration early! We need your help to spread out this good news =) There's a GK Giveaway below for those of you who want to run and attend the SEATIZEN's Festival =D
Green Race
Runners will be exposed to various suggested eco-friendly practices during their run. I think this is a very nice touch because I've heard of trash piling up after big runs. They're aiming for 2000 runners to join the Seatizen's Festival Green Race.
The registration fee is at P300 for 1k, 3k, 5k and 10k. Runners are encouraged to create their own marine-inspired costumes made of recycled materials (prizes await best costumes) and bring their own bottles. Singlets cost P200 (check out the design below). Registration will be done online to minimize waste. All tarps materials used will be donated to the Children's Environmental Education Awareness Foundation) and they will turn them into bags =) You can register for the Seatizen's Festival Green Race and reserve your Singlets at this link.

By not throwing trash in the sea.

ReplyDeleteI want to win the bobble and havaianas :) i can use the havaianas when i go to the beach with my friends and use the bobble whenever i go exercise :) i can save the seas with the bobble so that i wont be using plastic bottles that would eventually get dumped into the seas
i can save the seas when i go to the beach by not throwing my trash anywhere such that when we do not pollute beaches, it would eventually not lead to water pollution.
I wanna win the Seatizen's Festival Green Race Registrations! Because im a running enthusiast and i join running events /run for a cause- It is also a rewarding experience to be one of runners for the Seatizan's Festival Green Race.
ReplyDeleteBy being supportive with programs, activities and events that spread information about hot to save the Philippine Sea. Being able to share important announcement through social networking sites is also a big help now a days in spreading ways on how to preserve/ save our Philippines Sea.
Encouraging/exposing kids /youth and people to participate in activities that helps to save our Philippines Sea, The Do's and Dont's ..concerning about our sea.

I can save the Philippines seas by avoiding to throw any garbage in the River, Beach or Lake and i with other NGO advocate to save and protect the Seas at all times.
your shoe size (if you want havaianas)- 9 1/2 or 10
ReplyDeletewhat you want to win among the 3 prizes the most and why? I want the bobble water bottle because of it's filtering feature and is BPA-free which I can bring anywhere, anytime.
how can you save the Philippine seas with it? I don't have to use plastic whenever I am on the go specially when going to beaches or the likes, there will be less chance that the plastic will be thrown in the water or somewhere that might also end up in the seas
what other tips do you have to save the Philippine seas-whenever we go to beaches or somewhere near the seas, we have to bring paper bags for us to put our garbage. Even in our home, we have to separate biodegradable from non-biodegradable because who knows these garbage can also end up in our seas and pollute it.

Shoe Size is 35/36
ReplyDeleteI want to win the water bottle and the pair of havs because I have stopped buying bottled water already. I prefer to bring my own water and drinks so that there would be lesser plastic/ garbage. The havs, we are going to palawan next month and i want to wear that. having a good fit flops makes you enjoy the beach and the sea more. When you enjoy it, you appreciate it more and you get the motivation to preserve it as beautiful as it can be.
Other tips, mangrove planting is very helpful if we are near coastal areas. if not, just dispose garbage properly, reuse and recycle. we may be far, but the sea is where everything goes. so, make sure your garbage do not go to the seas.

ReplyDeleteI want to win the Havaianas. How can i save the seas with them? Hard question, well, Havaianas are durable, it will last longer than cheap imitation slippers so i can use them longer before they get old and the time comes for me to throw them out. Where does the saving the sea part come along? Let's put it like this, when i throw out my slippers properly in the garbage bin, some random street person is going to look through my garbage, get the slippers that i threw out, wear them a couple times then throw them away in the sewer, which leads to the ocean, which will then add up to the garbage that floats around. With Havainas that's not gonna happen because i'm not throwing them away!
Other tip, Discipline. Start with my self, proper garbage disposal will help alot.
